Primary school Voltino has been doing eco projects since 4th October 2001, and they are intertwined with all the activities inside and outside the school.

All the staff members and the pupils participate in eco events, so that they can present and improve the environment in which they live.

We are convinced that we raise the pupils' awareness of the environment, preserve and improve moral values with the promotion of eco codes and activities' programs. The pupils like these creative lessons.

The illustration of our work is the school's LOGO made by one of our pupils.

Our sponsor is the Forest Institute Jastrebarsko. Parents and pupils have been collecting paper, PET containers and batteries for two years and the money earned from these actions is sent to the fund for the demining of Croatia. Though the school was built in 1964, within two years we have managed to make two eco gardens, space for eco exhibitions, ethno corner, two eco-info panels, eco workshops.

We have also painted the schools' entrance and put flowers in every available space. We have also brought Papirko (Paperman) in every classroom to put old papers in it. Eco patrols evaluate the state of the schools' surrounding and classrooms.

The media: radio, television and newspapers follow our work. We enclose a detailed description of the done projects and the photocopies of several newspaper articles.
The foundation of the friends of the nature "Lijepa nasa" coordinates the program of eco schools in the Republic of Croatia within the membership in the FEE /Foundation for Environmental Education), the international program for environmental education.

During the year we have been visited by the commission from "Lijepa nasa" who gave advice for our further work.
On 2nd April 2003 Mr. Vladimir Strugar, the minister of education gave us the eco flag.

This was an encouragement for further improvement of our working place, the environment and the eco awareness of our life.
